    October  Meeting
Parkland Photo Club met in the Doghide Gallery in Tisdale on Tuesday, October 28.  President Anne McIntosh welcomed everyone especially guest Wendy Debrowka and two new members Steve and Julie Page of Hudson
Bay.  We hope that you enjoy your time with us and participate in our varied activities.

Some time was spent discussing our Shutterbug Show - a display of our photos in the Doghide Gallery. Much appreciation goes to Sandra Dancey for all the things she did to make this successful. We shared ideas of what might make the show even more successful if we tried this again in a few years. It was interesting to note that
we had at least two photos from each of our fifteen members.  You can't beat 100% participation! We were
pleased with the variety of subject matter of the photos and we feel that there is something there for every
taste.  The photos will remain on display until November 6 so if you haven't yet done so, we invite you to drop
 in and have a look!

Ten members submitted images for the Foto Fun Competition hosted by the Gleneath Camera Club of Kindersley.  If we submit five or more images from our club, then the club gets to participate in the judging of all the images in the competition.  We look forward to receiving these sometime in the coming months.

Photos or digital images were given to Alan Caithcart to assemble into a slide show which will be taken to the
senior residences in town in January and/or February when it is more difficult for these people to get out and
about. Our theme shoot competition for this month was "Still Life". Following the judging of the nine entries,
Hannah Anderson's "Souvenirs" was awarded first place, Susan Morgan's "Emerald Swan" won second place,
and Jillian Anderson's "Play your Chips" came in third. Members then commented on what they liked about
each entry and gave suggestions on how it might be improved.

Thanks to Albert Orbin for providing the lunch for this meeting.

Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 25 at seven pm in the Doghide Gallery in Tisdale.
If you are interested in photography, we invite you to come and join us!
